Is special certification or licensing needed to rent a piece of equipment from UELC?Many of the UELC units require a CDL license. There are also special operator certification and licenses needed to operate some of the cranes or derricks in the UELC fleet. Information on this can be found on the OSHA website. Are there any recent standard changes that I should be aware of?New OSHA standards for cranes and derricks went into effect in November, 2010. Please see the Terex Product Advisory for information. What are the benefits of renting from UELC?We offer late model equipment and we are easy to do business with. If I don’t know what equipment I need, will there be someone to discuss equipment?Yes, we have a sales representative that will be able to discuss your needs and determine what equipment meets these needs. Can I buy a piece of equipment I rent?Yes, you can purchase a piece of rental equipment on a program we call a “Rental Purchase Agreement.” Can I reserve equipment?Yes, we can reserve a piece of equipment for up to 5 days. What are the delivery costs?Delivery costs are determined at the inception of the contract and based on per mile plus fuel costs at that time. What do I need to have to rent a piece of equipment, license, insurance etc.?You will need insurance to our requirements, you will need a CDL license and you will need to sign our Rental Contract. Can I rent for a day, week, etc.? What are the rental rates?Rental terms are weekly, daily or monthly. Rates are based on length of the rental. Can I use a credit card?Yes, we take most major credit cards. Can I set up a business account?Yes, you can set up a business account. We will need our credit application filled out and then forwarded to corporate for review. What happens if I damage the piece of equipment?If the unit is damaged upon receipt back to our location, we will do an estimate and your representative will call you to discuss damage before an invoice is issued. Who do I contact for my equipment needs?You can call our corporate headquarters or you can call your area representative. Is there someone there that can show me how to use the equipment?Yes, we have someone that can show you how to operate the equipment. Does the equipment need to be returned to the same location or can I drop it off elsewhere?Equipment can be returned to closest UELC dealer or service location. Do I get a discount if I rent one of your pieces of equipment while mine is being repaired?Yes, we provide special rental rates if your equipment is being repaired. If I rent a unit for a month and I need to return it early, are there any penalties?Rental equipment can be returned at any time and the rental will be adjusted based on the rental term. Does UELC finance purchases?UELC can provide lease plans on any equipment we rent. Plans will be based on credit history. What happens if a rental unit breaks down while rented?UELC offers 24/7 service and if a rental unit cannot be repaired quickly we will swap it out with another unit until your unit is repaired or you can keep the swap permanently. |
