It all began one cold winter’s night in 1967, with one truck and one customer. While working at DUECO, his family’s utility equipment company, Thomas Dalum felt they could better fulfill customer needs by offering more substantial rental and leasing programs. The result was the incorporation of Utility Equipment Leasing Corporation (UELC).

Since its inception forty years ago, UELC has grown to become a nationwide industry leader in the rental and leasing of utility equipment. The fleet has grown from one truck to almost 700 with direct and dealer locations nationwide.

UELC builds its rental fleet around the day-to-day needs of contractors, utilities, municipalities and various other industries across the country. Reflecting the demands from the field, UELC’s inventory includes a full line-up of aerial lifts, digger derricks, material handlers, track vehicles, cranes, cable pullers, and cable placers.

Today, Thomas Dalum continues to work at DUECO and UELC. The family tradition continues with his daughter, Judie Taylor, president of UELC and his son Joe, who serves as DUECO’s Vice-President. As we look to the next 40 years, UELC will continue to grow and work with its partners to provide a quality product and great service.
